David Hartness
David Hartness is currently the registered representative for OMNI Brokerage Inc.'s San Diego Branch Office. His focus in the securitized real estate arena is in providing and coordinating client and asset management services to support strategic planning and due diligence for the acquisition and ownership of investment real estate by accredited investors.
Prior to entering the 1031 exchange and securitized real estate marketplace in 2002, Hartness was active in the acquisition, development, asset management and sale of commercial real estate throughout the U.S. including hotel, restaurant, office, industrial and apartment properties. Before his entry into the commercial real estate arena, he held executive management positions in the hospitality industry with a focus on hotel food and beverage operations in California, Florida and Hawaii. To date, he has assisted clients with purchasing over $175 million of securitized investment real estate and has achieved Elite Advisor status with OMNI Brokerage each year from 2003 to 2008.
He is a charter member of the Real Estate Investment Securities Association (REISA) where he is a co-chair for the 2009 Event Planning committee and a member of the Ethics & Standards Committee. He is the permanent senior member of OMNI Brokerage’s Rep Advisory Board, which he helped create in 2005 and a member of the OMNI Investment Committee since 2007. Hartness is a three time nominee for the TICA ACE (A Champion of Excellence) award and was presented with the ACE Award in the Registered Rep category for 2008. He is a member of the San Diego Chapter of CCIM as well as supporting organizations benefiting children and the earth's natural resources. He earned his BBA from the University of Hawaii's School of Travel Industry Management and his MBA from the University of Phoenix with an emphasis on business development and finance. He holds an active California and Hawaii real estate broker’s license, is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds Series 7 and 66 security designations.
